ChooseWhat Comparison & Review Methodology

 

Our two primary goals are:

  1. Accurately present the results of our product tests and analysis
  2. Provide our visitors with enough information to make an educated buying decision in a reasonable amount of time

In order to accomplish this, we follow a basic process.  When we create a new comparison & review category, we start by researching some of the more prominent providers of a specific type of service (eg: for email marketing services, this might include companies like Constant Contact, iContact, etc).  We compile information about their various pricing and feature offerings as well as any other information that someone might consider when making a buying decision.  As our research team becomes more familiar with the products, they begin actually testing the services to see how well they perform.  Additionally, the team tests the various customer service channels offered by the providers of the services and record their experiences.  The team then replicates this process with what they deem to be the companies that are most likely to be considered by a person buying a product or service in this category. 

After all the information is compiled, the research team presents their findings to an assortment of their peers and management at ChooseWhat.com.  It is during this process that we are able to identify what it is that a buyer really wants to know when choosing a company or product for that particular type of service.  Sometimes it’s a list of key features, but other times it’s a rating on ease of use and reliability.  We let the research dictate the outcome.  The goal is to tell you what you need to know about the products in a language that anyone can understand (we often say in our meetings, “explain it to me using words that a 10 year-old can understand”). 

Once we have determined the organization for the research on our site, we identify additional information that might be useful to a person planning on buying or using one of those services, like FAQ’s, Buying Tips, or simple How-To’s regarding the use of the products.
