Hey guys, I am looking to start a business as a personal trainer. I have been working as a physical therapist for the last 5 years and I'm strongly looking to change career paths. My true passion is Health and Fitness. I would love to help others achieve their fitness goals. For this, I was thinking about becoming a personal trainer. The only real question is, how much can I actually make as a personal trainer? Also, what are the best ways to make money? Would it be working on my own with clients either in my house or theirs (or even Outdoors)? How does online personal training work? @Mikeepod respect to you following your passion and beginning to think toward starting a fitness business!! I have a friend who owns his own small training studio (in a commercial strip space) and he specializes in helping retirees to get in better shape & stay healthy - he even has his own signature workout programs for low impact moves, etc. He calls it Stowe Training Systems (his last name is Stowe) He's found that by choosing & declaring a specialty (older clients, retirees), he's been able to fill a lucrative niche and get more consistent referrals. I know that the online-only space is super competitive for personal trainers (especially in the wake of this last year), but I think you're really onto something with the idea to visit your clients' residences for the sessions - half the battle is just getting clients to show up! thank you so much for your information on earning money as a personal trainer. I'm definitely excited to explore this career option more in-depth. I ran across an article talking about personal training certification on Trainer Academy (training/cscs-practice-test). They mentioned getting a CSCS personal trainer certification. Supposedly, personal training is the best way to quickly grow to make upwards of six figures. Do you guys have any experience with personal trainer certification? If so, I'd love to hear your input on that
