How quickly will my website restore its position?

Several days ago my website lost its position. I considered it was a Google Pirate and took action by switching to a new domain. However, soon I got a notification that the new domain contains malicious code. I’ve requested a review by Google and passed it. Still, I'm now tormented by the question - do I have to take the same actions toward my old domain? Do I have to request a review for it too? And how quickly will my website’s position be restored?

Hi @Victoria_91 , unless the two domains are linked to each other, you shouldn't have to take the same actions on your old domain as your new one. The new domain may take some real time to increase its ranking, largely because of its newness - as far as how long, that system of analysis is proprietary to Google's own algorithm (so we aren't able to see that system or timeline transparently).

Curious to hear your continued experience with this though - please keep us updated!
